Important papers such as but not limited to originals of your insurance policy, birth/marriage/death certificates, original deeds/mortgage contracts and other valuables such as but not limited to special jewels, medals and collectable items, irreplaceable photos, video or pictures of your home contents for insurance purposes.

Yes! You can jointly rent your Locker with a spouse, child or another person who will have unrestricted access to the Locker. Additionally, if none is available than you have to send us a mail (with your ID attached) on our official company Email Id for granting permission to operate the locker with his/her Verified Govt. approved ID . We will verify the ID and letter; if everything is appropriate, we will allow the person to operate the locker with limited access. This can take up to 3 to 4 working days.

If the law enforcement authorities persuade the appropriate court that there is reasonable cause to suspect you are hiding something illegal (guns, drugs, explosives, stolen items or cash), they can obtain a court order, have right to open the locker and seize the contents. In this case the authorities give us a notice to stop the operation of the locker and they shall summon you to be present in the vault house for opening the locker. After we get notice, the locker will be seized by us and the authorities and no one will be allowed to operate the locker till further notice.

In the case of any keys being lost or stolen, please inform us immediately by e-mail, phone or by visiting us . Please note that you must pay the break-open charges in advance . An appointment is prebooked with the manufacturing company and you will be informed of the date and time which usually takes 4-7 working days. A person from there will come and break open the locker in your presence on that given date and time. Thereafter the lock will be changed in front of you and you will be provided with a new key.

ALAKNANDA VAULTS™ shall not be liable for any damage and/or loss of contents of locker arising from natural calamities or Acts of God like earthquake, floods, lightning and thunderstorm or any act that is attributable to the sole fault or negligence of the customer.

Contents of your locker will be frozen until proper authorization is provided by an authorized person (nominee/custodian) to obtain access to your locker with receipt of a death certificate. The nominee/custodian must provide an ID proof along with a proof of address. In case of absence of a nominee or joint holder name in the records, a succession certificate is required and everybody from the family has to be present to operate the locker.

(A succession certificate is a document issued by a civil court to the legal heirs of a deceased person certifying a rightful person to be the successor of such deceased person. This certificate authorises the successor to realise the debts and securities of the deceased person.)

The beneficiary needs to get a certificate of succession from the Hon’ble Court or his/her local SDM office.

You will be charged an interest @24% per annum along with a one-time late rent fee of Rs.2000.00 to Rs.5000.00 (depending on locker size) and other administrative charges as applicable.

However, if a locker remains unoperated for over three years, the management has the right to break open your locker as per the RBI guidelines. Kindly refer to the given notification for more information regarding the same.
